Romanos Beach – Messinia


Romanos beach is located on South West Peloponnese  just beside the similarly called village, with 3km of golden, sandy, quiet, uncrowded beach and every day thermal wind. Full accommodation from Costa Navarino hotel.   The beach is sandy and the waters of the Ionian sea are of deep blue. The beach is very crowded during the summer season, while nearby are built  some of the best hotels in Greece. Sea turtles lay their eggs in the beach of  Romanos.

Sailing conditions

During summer months the wind direction is Northwest – West and many days the beach is working with topical phenomenon of thermal wind. The average wind is 15 – 25 knots depends of the day. During winter months the area have high winds with force up to 35 knots and with a lot of wave ideal for expert kitesurfers.

Security advices

Swimmers in the area during the summer months. Beach break spot with the wind side onshore – onshore when it is with West direction, not shallow waters but very nice sandy beach. There is local school from May – September. In winter months winds blows up to 35 knots ideal for expert kitesurfers and lot of waves.
